What is Zendesk MCP?
The Zendesk MCP server gives AI agents access to your Zendesk support data. That means agents can create, update, and merge tickets, post replies and internal notes, search and triage tickets, manage tags, apply macros, and read users, views, workflows, and Help Center content. It connects to the same Zendesk instance your support team works in, so an agent can move tickets forward instead of you clicking through the agent workspace.
Support teams spend a lot of time on repetitive ticket work: triaging the queue, retagging and reassigning, drafting the same replies, and updating statuses one ticket at a time. The Zendesk MCP server hands that work to an AI agent that can find the right tickets, draft a reply, apply a macro, and update fields in bulk. Describe what you need, and your AI agent will work the queue for you.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI agents call external tools. Normally, working with the Zendesk API means registering an OAuth app, managing tokens, and writing code against its endpoints. Gumloop wraps all of that behind a hosted server: authorize your Zendesk account once. After that, you can create tickets, reply to customers, and triage the queue just by asking your AI agent in plain language.
What you can do with Zendesk MCP on Gumloop
Manage tickets end to end
Create, update, and merge tickets, set status, priority, type, assignee, group, and custom fields, and create or update up to 100 tickets in a single batch.
Reply and add internal notes
Post public replies or private internal comments with rich formatting, and read a ticket’s full comment history.
Search and triage the queue
List and search tickets by status, priority, tags, requester, assignee, group, and date range, and pull the tickets in a saved view.
Tag and organize
Add or remove tags on tickets, users, and organizations to keep the queue sorted and routable.
Read users, groups, and organizations
List and search agents and end-users, and inspect the groups and organizations behind each ticket.
Apply macros and inspect workflows
Preview and apply an existing macro to a ticket, and read your automations, triggers, and macros to understand how the queue is routed.
Search the Help Center and community
Read knowledge base articles and community posts, and search across them to draft or validate a customer reply.
Pull audits, metrics, and Talk recordings
Read a ticket’s full audit trail and SLA metrics, list Zendesk Talk calls, and download call recordings for analysis.

Zendesk MCP use cases
Auto-triage for support teams
An agent searches the new ticket queue, classifies each ticket, then sets priority, tags, and the right group so tickets land with the correct team without manual sorting.
Reply drafting for agents
An agent reads a ticket, searches the Help Center for the relevant article, and posts a suggested reply as a private internal note for the agent to review and send.
Bulk updates for support ops
When a known issue is resolved, an agent uses batch update to reassign, retag, or change the status of up to 100 affected tickets at once.
Escalation routing for team leads
When a ticket breaches an SLA metric, an agent bumps its priority, moves it to an escalation group, and posts an internal note with the context.
Call analysis for QA teams
An agent lists recent Zendesk Talk calls, downloads the recordings, and sends them to a transcription step so quality reviews happen without manual downloading.
Why use Gumloop for Zendesk MCP
Connect once, no code
Working with the Zendesk API directly means registering an OAuth app and managing tokens. With Gumloop you authorize your Zendesk account one time and stay connected. No app registration, API token, or code necessary.
Works with multiple MCP clients
Use the same hosted Zendesk MCP server in Gumloop, Claude, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible clients. Same server URL, works with any MCP client.
Chain Zendesk with 100+ integrations
An agent can pull a ticket from Zendesk, look up the customer in your CRM, and post a summary to Slack, all in a single run.
Enterprise-grade hosting
Gumloop hosts the server for you and respects your existing Zendesk permissions, so an agent works within the access your account already has. See trust.gumloop.com for security details.
Start with a free trial
Gumloop offers a 14-day free Pro trial so you can try the Zendesk MCP server before you commit. Paid plans start at $37/month.
